Okay. I am guilty. I did the unthinkable. I did what is politically incorrect. I actually talked to one of my co-workers about their relationship with Jesus and I did it in the workplace. – GASP!! – But you know what? That was the time and place chosen by God, not me. It was part of God’s plan, not mine. This person said that they are not "worthy" for anyone to die for them. I have heard this before. God loves you and me enough that He was willing to give up His Son for you and me. Who says we are not worthy? God thinks we are more than worthy. In fact we are valuable to God. It started me thinking, which is sometimes dangerous territory.
The next time we feel like we are not worthy and GOD can’t use us, just remember...
Noah was a drunk.
Abraham was too old.
Isaac was a daydreamer.
Jacob was a liar.
Leah was ugly.
Joseph was abused.
Moses had a stuttering problem.
Gideon was afraid.
Sampson had long hair and was a womanizer.
Rahab was a prostitute.
Jeremiah and Timothy were too young.
David had an affair and was a murderer.
Elijah was suicidal.
Isaiah preached naked.
Jonah ran from God.
Naomi was a widow.
Job went bankrupt.
John the Baptist ate bugs.
Peter denied Christ.
The Disciples fell asleep while praying.
Martha worried about everything.
The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once.
Zaccheus was too small.
Paul was too religious.
Timothy had an ulcer.
Lazarus was dead!
What could we possibly have that’s worse than that? So no more excuses! God can and will use us to our full potential. Besides, we are not the message. We are just messengers.
