Whose side are we on? Remember it is us who are to match God’s will and not the other way around. During the US civil war Abraham Lincoln met with a group of ministers for a prayer breakfast. Lincoln was a man of deep, if at times, untraditional faith. At one point one of the ministers said, "Mr. President, let us pray that God is on our side." Lincoln’s response showed far greater insight, "No, gentlemen, let us pray that we are on God’s side." If we want to know what God wants us to do, then we must first strive to live a life in agreement with His will. This means we must submit to His leading and to the work of Jesus Christ. Every place that God leads us, He is not already working and His grace will be all we need.
" What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?" Romans 8:31 NLT
