God See In The Heart

Hello everyone!

I wonder what would happen if we applied the same standards of faithfulness to our Christian activities that we expect from other areas of our lives?

If our car starts once every three tries, is it reliable? – But it starts most of the time.

If the Post Office decided to skip delivery every Monday and Thursday, are they trustworthy? – But they come the other days of the week.

If the refrigerator stops working for a day or two every now and then we say, "Oh well, it works most of the time."

If the water heater provides an icy cold shower every now and then, is it dependable? And then we say, "Oh it takes a while to warm up."

If we skip a couple of electricity bill payments do you think the electric company would mind? - They will let me catch up later. Right?

If we don't go to work once or twice a month, are we dependable to our co workers?

Or, if one of our co-workers decides not to show up once in a while, or shows up late, are they a dependable co-worker?

If we fail to worship God one or two Sundays a month because we are too tired or too busy, or if someone sees us doing something that is un-Christian-like, can we expect others to see a faithful Christian? Same thing goes for when we see others skipping church or themselves doing something un-Christian-like. What do we think of them? It is not for us to judge. We see only the outside in others. Other people see the outside in us. God sees the heart.

We expect loyalty and reliability from things and other people because we depend on them in our everyday life. Isn't it reasonable then that God just might expect the same from us? He wants us to depend on HIM for everything in our daily life. But things and people may fail us. God NEVER fails. We are not here to serve the world. We are not here to serve people. Where we serve and what we do for others we do in God’s Name. Let’s put HIS name first in all we do and worship HIM at all times through what we do.

" But the Lord said to Samuel, "don't judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7 NLT)
